Oh my, if you’ve been following my FB page or Twitter then you’d know that my HD just crashed last week. I lost everything, including my most recent photography and illustration work that I had been working on for the past few weeks. Some clients work as well is gone!! I’m so sorry! This happened to me so often in the past two years, it’s what slowed me down by a lot. It’s so hard to restart again. Trying to remember what I’ve done – what I had.. Now my system is all brand new again, empty and has nothing. I’ve just installed Photoshop again, but hey… no sweet brushes that I made not long ago.. those awesome brushes and textures that I was going to share with my HGX members. The long hours I’ve spent illustrating some high quality prints that I also was planning to share on HGX. I literally cried when I lost them all.

How am I supposed to redo them? I don’t even remember exactly how they looked. So so frustrating.

I’m sorry for another slow down on the site, everyone. {Please know that I’m still here and trying my hardest to restart again.. I don’t want to stop and then disappear again like last time. I’m here to stay for good… so please don’t give up on me. I will bring this site back up with some new amazing stuff… I promise!

For now, thank you so much for supporting HG, my work and especially, me – you have no idea how much I appreciate you guys being around! I get so depressed when I don’t have much to update. Life is kicking me in the butt and it’s always hectic. But I really hope to have more energy this week to be creative and productive! December is coming, it means crazy time!! I so don’t look forward to it. It’s going to be good and yet stressful at the same time since I won’t have much time to work on the computer at all.

I love you guys!! I’ll be back with new stuff as soon as I can, k? Thank you for understanding!!

Photoshop Patterns – 2011 (01)

Hi all!! Today I’m going to share a new set of Photoshop patterns. There are 11 patterns in the set, they were created in Photoshop CS3. I also included the individual .jpg image of the patterns in the set for those of you who don’t use CS3. I do have more than these 11 patterns, but for today, I’m sharing these first.. just because I’m so so tired. My eyes are closing as I’m typing this. -.- I haven’t been sleeping much in the past week due to some horrible stomach bugs that infected the whole family.. Kids have been sick and I’ve been staying up at nights cleaning the mess! Absolutely. Tired.

THANK YOU so much to those of you who commented on my last post! I really appreciated your suggestions and thoughts, Sere, Miz, Choua, icekraem, Tiffany, Coolceruleanblue, Chris and Lynn! *HUGS*

I hope you’ll like the new patterns. They are 500×500 pixels in dimensions, therefore they’re suitable for background prints.. I think!? I haven’t actually tested them yet, but just from looking at the previews if I set them up on an A4 paper in my Photoshop, they look good/large enough for you to print them for scrap-booking, maybe?

Just another site rambling

Hey guys.. This is just a random post from me. I’ve been feeling ‘unsettled’ about how my site’s doing, now. I enjoy having this WP as the main CMS for the platform. But at the same time I’m feeling kind of restricted, somehow. I know for a fact that I won’t have time to design and code my own WP theme anytime soon. But outsourcing for free themes makes me feel ‘lost’ for some reason. It’s weird, because it’s not my own design, I feel like I’m not at home, you know?!

So there are a few things that I’d like to have your inputs for.. I do hope that you’ll help me by telling me what you honestly think is best for this site.

Do you like the current setup of this site? I mean, do you find using WordPress, HG is a much better site?
Do you prefer HG to have the old traditional setup, by putting everything on a different section consisting pages of goodies and I only update on the main page with whatever new I upload?
Should I just say screw site design and just keep up with the sharing of my resources??

If you do like HG to be in WP format, then I would keep it the way it is and will just have to look for a better theme as a layout. I am absolutely new to wordpress and I’m still experimenting with the different features that WP can have. I know that I won’t be designing my own theme anytime soon, though. I’ve tried doing it for the whole year, last year and I managed to make about 3 different themes and coded from scratch and I always ended up with feeling .. ‘omg I can’t be bothered with this‘ along the way.

If you have suggestions that would help me with this site, I would really appreciate it.

One more set under the cut..I was inspired making these brushes by my little daughter who’s been painting with watercolors lately.. She loves painting sometimes I think she’s a little bit too obsessed with it. Also, every times she sees me painting on my computer she always try to take over and tells me that she really badly wants to be an artist, as well. *giggles* She’s four years old, BTW. So yeah, these brushes were created because what I’ve been seeing around the house. I wished sometimes that I had a scanner so I could just scan her scribbles than trying to paint/create the brushes with the same effect, and then define some watercolor-looking scribbles as brushes. It takes ages to do that – the process of me creating my certain effects brushes sometimes can take up days. I have to find which type/style of bristles to use, and then how to arrange/design each bristle to make the strokes ‘realistic’ enough for some effects, etc. and a lot more details into it, really. It’s frustrating, sometimes. But I do enjoy it, don’t get me wrong..

Free Photoshop Grunge Brushes

Free Photoshop grunge brushes. There are 6 brushes in this set, all of them are larger than 2000px (a big file). They are suitable for web as well as print work. I created them in Photoshop CS3 and I also included the stamps (.jpg images) of the brushes in the zip file for anyone who doesn’t use Photoshop or using the earlier versions. If you have any feedback, I’d love to hear it!

I still have many more brushes to share, but it takes me ages to set them up since I’m trying to organize everything better this time around. It doesn’t help, though, that I keep creating and experimenting more with the brushes that I already have. Just this week alone my brushes palette reached hundreds of MB in size just because I keep making new ones. O.O I know, right?! Call me obsessed! Anyways, here it is, click the image to download it – it’s huge, so please make sure you have good connection. LOL.

Free Photoshop brushes for download!! This set consists of 25 techy design brushes. Great for your web designing and digital art. Originally created for .psdMag per requested to be some of their featured brushes in one of their issues in 2010. I meant to share it on this site last year, but I completely forgot to do it. There’s another set of 100 random brushes varied from masking, grunge, paints, borders, flowery designs, etc. It’s a little bit too random and big, so I’m going to set them apart according the different themes and will include some more new ones that I will be making tonight. Hopefully a few sets will be ready by the end of this weekend! For now, I hope you’ll enjoy some techy-ness.. LOL.

Hello everyone! As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been re-uploading my old contents (textures and brushes) on to the site, slowly… I’m still not finished with doing that. But I got tired today, so while I was watching my little nephew outside the house, I took my camera with me and started taking random photos of stuff. I processed them and made a few textures for photography work. I thought, here’s something different and new for you, if you’re interested!

There are 5 large textures in original quality of my photos (3872 x 2592px – 300dpi. I zipped them up (27MB) – so it’s a big file. I included 2 samples under the cut so you can view the kind of effects you can achieve with these textures. Download link is under the cut…
